Convert SSA to SRT
SSA is the older SubStation Alpha format, and the reason a lot of archived subtitle files refuse to load in a modern player. Converting to SubRip fixes that: the same cues, the same timings, minus the styling a plain player would have ignored anyway. Nothing is uploaded — the file is read and rewritten in this tab.

Ofte stilte spørsmål
What is the difference between SSA and ASS?
ASS is the later revision, with more styling features and a slightly different field order in the Events section. For the purposes of getting to SRT the difference does not matter: this page and the ASS page run the same parser, which finds the columns by name.
Will the timings shift?
No. SSA writes times in hundredths of a second and SRT in thousandths, so each stamp is widened rather than rounded — 0:00:02.25 becomes 00:00:02,250. Nothing is recalculated, so a file that was in sync stays in sync.
Do I need to install anything?
No. There is no download, no account and no upload: pick the file and the SRT is ready immediately, because the whole conversion runs as JavaScript in the page you are already on.
