Getting started
- Create an account and sign in.
- Upload a file — drag in an audio or video recording, or paste a link from a supported platform.
- Pick your options — language (or let us auto-detect it) and, on paid plans, an optional translation.
- Get your transcript in a few minutes. Read it, edit it, and export it in the format you need.
What you can transcribe
Common audio and video files work out of the box — including MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, FLAC, MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. If your file plays in a normal media player, it will almost certainly transcribe. Maximum file length depends on your plan — see Pricing.
Languages and translation
ScribeToAny transcribes 90+ languages and can detect the spoken language automatically. On paid plans you can also add a translation of the transcript into another language, produced alongside the original.
Free browser tools (no upload, no account)
The free tools are separate from transcription and completely free:
- Subtitle converters — SRT ↔ VTT ↔ TXT/CSV/JSON, and export to DOCX/PDF.
- A subtitle editor — fix cues and timings, then re-export.
- Media utilities — extract audio from video, convert between audio formats, MP4 → WebM, video → GIF, HEIC → JPG.
These run entirely in your browser — your file is never uploaded to a server.
Exporting your transcript
Every transcript can be exported as TXT, SRT, VTT, TSV, JSON, PDF, or DOCX, so it drops straight into your subtitling, editing, or writing workflow.
Editing and sharing
- Edit transcript segments and timings directly in your workspace.
- Share a read-only link to a transcript with anyone — no account needed to view it.
- Manage your files — see, download, and delete everything from your files.
Tips for the best accuracy
- Clear audio matters more than anything — less background noise and less crosstalk gives a better transcript.
- Set the correct language (or trust auto-detect for a single clearly-spoken language).
- For music or heavy accents, expect to do a little editing afterwards — the built-in editor makes that quick.
Billing, plans, and cancellation
- Compare the free tier and paid plans on the Pricing page.
- Manage your subscription — upgrade, downgrade, update payment details, or cancel anytime — from your billing settings.
- Payments are handled securely by Stripe; ScribeToAny never sees your full card number. See Security for details.
Privacy and security
Your recordings are private. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after transcription, your data is encrypted, and nothing you upload is ever used to train AI. Read the full details on our Security page.
