Transcribe Arabic Audio

Arabic runs right-to-left, drops most short vowels and shifts heavily between dialects — all of which make hand-transcription slow and error-prone. ScribeToAny turns Arabic speech into clean, punctuated text automatically, for interviews, lectures, news clips and business meetings, then exports it in eight formats.

Checked against the script, 4 of 189 words differed — a 2.1% word error rate, counting "80" written for "eighty" as an error — and all 14 speaker turns were labelled correctly. This was clean speech; noisy recordings and people talking over each other score lower. See the full transcript and how it was scored

Why ScribeToAny

  • MSA & Regional Dialects: Modern Standard Arabic is strongest; Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and Maghrebi dialects work, with more words to check.
  • Arabic Script Output: Text comes out in Arabic script as Unicode, so apps and players that support Arabic show it right-to-left.
  • Noisy Recordings: Clear audio transcribes best; for field recordings and phone calls, turn on Restore audio and proofread in the editor.
  • Subtitles for Arabic Video: Time-coded SRT/VTT files you can load into a player or video editor; styling is left to your video tool.

Frequently asked questions

Does it handle Arabic dialects, not just Modern Standard Arabic?

Yes. The model is trained on a broad range of spoken Arabic, so Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and other dialects are recognised alongside Modern Standard Arabic. Heavily mixed or code-switched speech is where a quick proofread helps most.

Are the short vowels (harakat) added?

The output follows standard written Arabic, which normally leaves short vowels unmarked — that is what readers expect and what pastes cleanly into documents. The words themselves are fully transcribed; only the optional diacritics are omitted.

Can it subtitle Arabic videos?

Yes. Every transcript is timestamped, so you can export SRT or VTT and drop them straight onto the video. You can also translate the Arabic transcript into 134+ languages for free, on every plan. The translation keeps the original timings, so a translated SRT lines up with the video too.

Arabic isn't in the language menu — how do I make sure it's detected?

Leave Audio language on Auto-detect: Arabic is recognised automatically. Detection listens to roughly the first 30 seconds, so if your recording opens with an English intro, music or a long silence, trim that part first — otherwise the file may be treated as another language. Recordings that open with a Quran recitation or nasheed are a common case worth trimming.

Can I get an English version of an Arabic recording?

Yes. Tick Transcribe to English before starting and the Arabic speech comes back as English text in one pass, on every plan. Or keep the Arabic transcript and translate it afterwards into 134+ languages with the subtitle timings kept.
