Get a Transcript From a Loom Video

A Loom walkthrough is quick to record and slow to reuse — nobody can skim a ten-minute screen recording for the one step they need. Paste the share link and the narration comes back as timestamped text you can turn into a written SOP, paste into a doc, or search in seconds. The Loom has to be shareable with "anyone with the link"; workspace-only videos need a login we deliberately never ask for.

Frequently asked questions

Which Loom links work?

Any loom.com/share link set to "Anyone with the link can view". If the video is restricted to your workspace or specific people, we hit the same login wall an anonymous visitor would and cannot fetch it — change the share setting, or download the file and upload it instead.

Why transcribe a Loom I recorded myself?

To turn a spoken walkthrough into something written and reusable — an SOP, a help doc, a release note — without retyping it, and to make the content searchable and quotable. The transcript is editable, so you cut the filler and keep the substance.

Can I get subtitles for the Loom?

Yes — export SRT or VTT and the cue timings come with it, so the file lines up with the recording as-is. Re-embed it anywhere that takes a subtitle track, or translate the transcript first on the Max plan for a different audience.
