Frequently asked questions

How long can the Reel be?

Longer than Instagram allows one to be, so length is never the limiting factor here. The per-file cap depends on your plan and applies to the whole library, not to Reels specifically — the pricing page lists the current numbers.

How is this different from the captions Instagram already shows?

Instagram’s captions are burned into the viewing experience: they appear a line at a time and there is no way to copy, search or download them. What you get here is the full text as a file, with timestamps attached, which is a different object entirely.

Can I get subtitles I can repost with?

Yes — export SRT or VTT and the cue timings come with it, so the file lines up with the video as-is. If you are reposting to a different audience, the Max plan can translate the transcript segment by segment first, which leaves those timings untouched.
