Frequently asked questions

Does it handle Arabic dialects, not just Modern Standard Arabic?

Yes — Egyptian, Levantine, Gulf and other dialects are recognised alongside Modern Standard Arabic, and the English translation smooths the dialect differences. Heavily code-switched speech is where a quick check in the editor helps.

Do I get the Arabic transcript too, or only English?

Your choice. "Transcribe to English" gives you English only, in one pass, on any plan. Choosing English as a translation target keeps the Arabic transcript and adds the English translation alongside it, with identical timings — that second mode is on the Max plan.

Can I make bilingual subtitles?

Yes. Both the Arabic and English come out timestamped, so export SRT or VTT for each and they line up on the same video. That is the usual reason to keep both rather than transcribing straight to English.
